Ronnie E. Hickmon, Owner of Transcare Transportation, was born in the small coastal town of New Bern, N.C. It is in this small tight knit community that his value system was molded. Kindness, honesty, compassion, hard work and respect for others were a way of life during the early years of his life. After honorable service in the U.S. Navy, Ronnie relocated to Raleigh and began his long career in the corporate world. It is there that Ronnie learned the harsh reality of life and that first priority was the bottom line. The turning point in his life came in 2015, while visiting his relative who is the parent of a disabled child. Ronnie was appalled by the treatment of his relative as she was being transported. He saw the stern faced driver loading his relative as though she was a sack of potatoes, often times late and not concerned with the well-being of the client. It is then that Ronnie thought there must be a better way. In May 2016 after much prayer and soul-searching, TransCare Transportation Services was founded on the principal “We Care about You”. The moral values instilled in Ronnie so long ago are now the foundation of his company. Honesty, dependability, reliability, respect for others and most importantly faith in God is the way Ronnie lives his life and the way he runs his company.
